Traditional living
Kugi Dool is our new guesthouse on the small island of Sehel near Aswan. It is located on the edge of the village in the middle of a magnificent floodplain landscape directly on the Nile with a view of a breathtaking backdrop of granite rocks, where the famous rock inscriptions from pharaonic times can be found.
The house was carefully built in 2020 using traditional methods and local materials (mud and bricks), capturing the original features and authenticity of the Nubian architectural style. We promote Nubian culture and live in harmony with nature and the local community.
Kugi Dool is an oasis of calm and the perfect place to relax. Whether in the beautifully landscaped garden, in the courtyard or on the terrace, shady spots invite guests to linger. It is a unique retreat for individual travelers who share our passion for Egyptian culture and history and are looking for something special. Families are welcome!
The guest house has 4 rooms and 1 apartment. The room prices are between 20 € and 50 € including breakfast. It is under German and Nubian management. Our guests can use the barbecue area and the kitchen individually. We are also happy to serve delicious, freshly prepared meals in our courtyard on request.
