The journey begins in Aswan, in the land of the Nubians on the border with Sudan. Here at the first cataract, the Nile Valley is particularly picturesque. The traces of history are omnipresent and the people are friendly and open.
Program for a two-day tour
The tuk-tuk will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning with your luggage and take you to the jetty. The felucca 'Horus' is already fully equipped and anchored there. There are colorful cushions on deck where you can rest under the awning during the day. You will also eat your meals there. In the evening, you anchor on the shore or on one of the many islands, then the deck is transformed into a sleeping area. There is nothing better than sleeping under the starry sky - or staying awake and listening to the sounds of the night. During the day, you sail past colorful villages, thousands of mango trees and date palms. You stop at the old quarry in El Sisila and visit the temple of Kom Ombo. The driver will be waiting for you there to take you back to Aswan or to Luxor for a follow-up stay.
You can also extend the 2-day tour to a 3-day tour. Then you can sail to Edfu , visit the Horus Temple and continue your journey to Aswan or Luxor by train.
